About us…
Greg is a compassionate counselor for depression, anxiety, abuse, trauma, emotional eating and relationship problems in Cortland, NY who has been helping individuals heal from difficult life experiences for over 30 years.
Greg wanted to create a caring, supportive environment to ensure a successful counseling experience. With this in mind he opened North Main Counseling at 84 North Main Street in August of 2012. His office provides an emotionally safe, comfortable, and confidential setting.
The focus of his work is to help individuals develop confidence in their ability to manage stress and strong emotions, and to resolve the problems in their lives by building on their strengths. He helps people learn self-compassion skills so they can manage negative self-talk and more successfully deal with the challenges of life. To accomplish this, he utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). He is a certified EMDR therapist.
Greg is a graduate of the University of Albany with a Masters of Social Work degree and is a licensed clinical social worker approved to accept private insurance. He offers individual counseling for adults.
